Richard Sanger's plays include Not Spain (nominated for
Chalmers and Governor–General's Awards), and Two Words for
Snow (six Dora nominations); his poems have appeared in
many publications, including London Review of Books and the
Times Literary Supplement, and in the collections Shadow
Cabinet and Calling Home. He has also written essays and
reviews for numerous publications in Canada, Spain and
Britain, taught at the University of Toronto and been Writerin–Residence
at the universities of New Brunswick and
Calgary. In 2002, the Shaw Festival produced his translation of
Lorca's The House of Bernarda Alba; in 2003, Broadview Press
published his English verse translation of Lope de Vega's play
Fuenteovejuna, commissioned by Soulpepper Theatre. |
