Kathryn Ivany is a native Albertan, raised in Calgary, Red Deer and Edmonton.
Her first job at the Provincial Museum of Alberta started a career in the study
and interpretation of Alberta's natural and human history. Educated at the Universities
of Alberta, Calgary and Cambridge, she has pursued historical subjects for over
twenty years as a public historian working with Historic Sites to plan museums,
the Historical Society of Alberta and the Archives Society of Alberta to promote
its preservation and study and as a consultant researcher and writer to neighbourhood
groups, not–for–profit agencies, archives and museums researching their stories.
